The 68th Independence Day Celebration got off to a colourful start on the play ground at Stanes School. The Guest of Honour Mr. Christopher Joel was escorted by the Principal Mr. Glenn Croning and the Head Master Mr. Ronald S. Fernandez with the N.C.C troop in full attendance. The Academic Head Ms. Evelyn Samuel opened in prayer and after the welcome and the introduction of the Chief Guest the tricolor was hoisted followed with a smart salute and the National Anthem by the brass band. The welcome dance was by the girls of Hr.Sec.- Standard 1 to 6 had a colourful Medley of programmes which included songs and dance. There were patriotic speeches in Hindi and Tamil. Prizes were distributed for the competition that were held on July 15th – Kalvi Valarchi Naal. The programme came to a close with sweets distribution to all gathered.
